Manual Motorcycle Loading Ramp System

The Sandaire SoloRamp is a portable, foldable motorcycle loading system designed to allow a single person to safely load and unload a motorcycle onto a vehicle tailgate or cargo van — without powered riding.

At the core of the design is a guided rolling carrier that securely supports and controls the motorcycle's front wheel as it travels up and down the ramp, ensuring stability throughout the process.

The system is powered entirely by mechanical force, using a ratcheted hand-crank winch with a steel cable combined with a re-engineered pulley system inspired by ancient Egyptian mechanics. This configuration delivers and effortless, controlled, predictable, and safe loading operation. Once complete, the ramp folds compactly for convenient transport and storage.

About the Inventor

My name is Alex, and I am a New Jersey-based motorcycle enthusiast and longtime rider.

After decades of moving heavy equipment and personally experiencing the challenges and risks of loading motorcycles from ground level onto 3—4 foot-high platforms, I set out to design a better solution. The result is the Sandaire SoloRamp — a safe, more controlled motorcycle loading system specifically engineered for pickup truck tailgates and cargo vans.

This invention reflects real-world experience, practical engineer, and a commitment to reider safety and independence.
